The Energy Emporium (online) and the Enfield Energy Emporium and the Clear Mountain Solar Store (retail stores) provide information and product ideas to help people choose cleaner, greener products that can save money and reduce the impact to our environment.
For the last decade I have been actively looking for products that were affordable, that could improve the environment, and that would actually save money for the consumer. I bought a Prius in 2003; we were able to choose flooring for our kitchen from sustainable forests in 2005; and more recently we’ve been able to replace light bulbs, find green products for cleaning, measure energy usage, compare energy ratings on appliances, and much more. My goal is to help make the information available so people know they have green choices in the products they buy. I have a special interest in measuring, data logging, and helping people understand their energy usage and choices.
I started this website in January 2009 and the Energy Emporium retail store opened in April of 2009. The Clear Mountain Solar Store of Claremont was started in 2007 and joined us in October of 2009.
